The Bath Priory Hotel

About

This delightful 33-bedroom hotel with an award-winning restaurant has the feel of a country house hotel in the city. Built in 1835, The Bath Priory Hotel offers a fine example of gothic architecture of the period. Set in four acres of award-winning gardens, the hotel grows many of its own herbs and vegetables. It has an outdoor pool in the gardens and an indoor pool in the Garden Spa by L'Occitane, where guests can use the sauna and steam room on a complimentary basis.

All room prices are inclusive of bed and breakfast, use of the Garden Spa by L'Occitane facilities, on-site parking and a morning newspaper. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms, and boast luxuriously soft dressing gowns and slippers, along with bespoke designer toiletries.

At the heart of the hotel is the celebrated restaurant, with magnificent views across the hotel's award-winning gardens. The menu offers a memorable culinary journey with a focus on fresh, local produce, flavour and balance to create exciting, modern French dishes, epitomising the best seasonal dining. Complemented by an exemplary wine cellar and exceptional insight from the Head Sommelier, every detail of your dining experience is perfectly paired.  There is also The Pantry & Terrace which provides a vibrant and informal menu serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, and supper, packed with seasonal, light and exciting dishes.

The fabulous spa has a selection of luxurious treatments, an indoor pool, poolside sauna, elliptical steam pod and shower. From the moment you enter, The Garden Spa by L'Occitane (the only L'Occitane Spa in the UK), fragrances transport you to Provence; the escape begins with scent. Every gesture, every ingredient, every ritual is drawn from a page of the L'Occitane grand herbarium, a resource of hundreds of essential oils and natural ingredients.

Accessibility Information

The Bath Priory has one accessible room on the ground floor, the Foxglove Room. For guests with physical disabilities, the room will always be offered at the lowest available public rate at the time of booking. Any additional requirements can be discussed pre-arrival by calling +44 (0)1225 331922.

The hotel's car park is level with a firm gravel surface, and includes a dedicated disabled parking space located next to the front door. Porter assistance is available for moving luggage.

Wheelchair access is via a ramp at the front entrance of the hotel. Staff will be available to assist you.

Guide dogs and accredited assistance dogs are welcome throughout the hotel.

The reception at The Bath Priory is located on the ground floor and has level access. Throughout the whole of the ground floor the surfaces are polished stone floors, level wooden flooring and short pile carpets. Corridors throughout the ground floor are wide with the narrowest doorways being 870mm. Reception is well lit with desk lamp and natural light. The desk offers a lower level for wheelchair users.

The lounges in the hotel are all located on the ground floor where the surfaces are a mix of level wooden flooring and short pile carpets. The corridors are wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair and staff are trained in disability awareness. Both the Drawing Room and the Library feature a mixture of seating arrangements with low coffee tables and seating ranging from soft deep cushioned to straight back chairs and sofas.

The hotel has limited public toilet facilities which are not accessible for wheelchair users. As such, guests booked in to the Foxglove Room would need to use the in-room facilities. Where possible, the hotel reserves the Foxglove Room if an accessible toilet is requested as part of a restaurant booking.

The gardens and terrace are accessible via a pathway at the side of the hotel. There are a series of gravel pathways that go around the gardens with steps leading to higher ground, so as a result the area is not fully accessible. The front lawn is extensive and bordered by a firm gravel surface. The lawn has a slight gradient down away from the hotel, though remains accessible.

The restaurant is located on the ground floor and the surface is short pile carpet. Full waiter service is provided at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Guests are asked to notify the hotel of any special dietary needs in advance. The menu can be provided in large print or delivered verbally if required. There is ample moveable seating and chairs without arms. The restaurant area is well-lit, with plenty of natural daylight during daytime hours.

Access to the spa is step-only.

The Foxglove Room is well lit with ceiling spot lights, table and floor lamps and natural light from the windows and French doors which lead out onto a private terrace. The doorways are a minimum width of 800mm and a maximum of 840mm wide. The bathroom comprises of a shower with a portable seat and grab rail, a toilet seat (420mm high) and washbasin (780mm high). The bathroom is also fitted with an emergency pull cord and is full of natural light from the window.

In order to safely evacuate the building in case of emergency, the hotel will need to create a personal emergency evacuation plan for physically disabled visitors on arrival to understand their specific requirements. Should evacuation be necessary, the building's alarm will sound continuously.

The Priory always welcomes feedback in order to improve its accessibility. If you require further assistance, please contact the hotel using the channels on the right hand side of this page.
