If you’re an EU, EEA and Swiss citizen, you can travel to the UK for holidays or short trips without needing a visa. You can cross the UK border using a valid passport which should be valid for the whole time you are in the UK. However, nationals of Romania and Bulgaria currently need to apply for permission to work in the UK.
If you're a citizen of Canada, the USA, South Africa, Australia or New Zealand, then you do not require a visa to holiday in the UK. However, you will need to fill in forms to apply for entry clearance on arrival, and your stay duration is limited to a maximum of 6 months. You must apply for a visa to work in the UK.

There is a left luggage facility at the internet cafe on Manvers Street, opposite Bath Spa Railway Station.

Dialling 112 or 999 on any phone in the UK will put you through to the emergency services. Simply state which service you require (fire service, police, ambulance or coastguard) and you will be connected.

Visitors from a European Economic Area country or from Switzerland can apply for a free European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) from their home country's healthcare system. Having an EHIC card means any emergency healthcare received whilst in the UK will be free.
There are around eight public holidays a year in the UK, which are also known as ‘bank holidays’. Some businesses and attractions may be closed or have limited opening hours.
There is no public transport on Christmas Day and a limited service on Boxing Day. Most attractions, shops and restaurants are closed. On Easter Sunday, large shops have to be closed by law, though small shops can open.
