Cocktail on bar

About

Hidden beneath the historic streets of Bath, The Bootlegger is the city’s newest speakeasy-style bar, bringing a heady mix of vintage glamour, electrifying live music, and expertly crafted cocktails. As the latest addition to The Bootlegger Bars family, this underground escape transports guests to an era where jazz ruled the airwaves, cocktails were an art form, and every night felt like a celebration.

Stepping inside The Bootlegger Bath, visitors are immersed in a world inspired by the roaring 1920s, swinging 1950s, and soulful 1960s. The dimly lit interiors, exposed brickwork, and plush seating set the stage for an atmosphere that is both intimate and electric. Live music is at the heart of The Bootlegger experience, with a rotating lineup of jazz bands, rock & roll performers, and rhythm & blues artists ensuring that the energy never fades. DJs keep the tempo going into the early hours, blending classic sounds with contemporary beats.

At the bar, over 90 handcrafted cocktails await, each made fresh to order with locally sourced fruits and botanicals—no pre-mixing, no shortcuts. The cocktail menu pays homage to the Prohibition era while offering modern twists on classic favourites. Signature serves include legendary Espresso Martinis, smooth Sours, and a selection of CBD-infused cocktails, making The Bootlegger one of the few bars in the UK to offer this unique trend. Gin lovers are treated to an unparalleled collection of over 100 gins, while craft beer, ales, and local ciders provide further temptation.

Whether guests are looking to sip on world-class cocktails, sway to the rhythm of live music, or simply lose themselves in the enchanting atmosphere, this underground haven is the place to be.

Cocktail Masterclasses

For those looking to elevate their evening, The Bootlegger offers cocktail masterclasses, where guests can learn the secrets of expert mixology in an interactive and immersive setting. Private bookings are available for those seeking an exclusive experience, whether for intimate celebrations, corporate events, or lively gatherings.

Unlike the clandestine speakeasies of the Prohibition era, The Bootlegger proudly exists to celebrate indulgence, good company, and unforgettable nights. It is more than just a bar—it is an experience, a destination, and a journey through time.
