About

Berdoulat is proud to present Twin Cities, a debut exhibition showcasing the works of British artist and designer Roger Barnard.

Capturing everyday city views through fluid, freehand line work, Barnard's black ink drawings on paper depict the streetscapes of Bath and Paris with a spontaneity that evokes the energy and tranquility of both cities. The rhythm of the streets is rendered from life, carefully observed yet without formality, transforming the familiar into an expressive urban study.

By contrast, Barnard offers evocative watercolours of some of the most iconic
Parisian patisseries. The process of painting each confection is much like
savouring it: slow, deliberate, and filled with appreciation. Transcending mere indulgence, this series reflects the joy found in life's little pleasures, artfully preserving these satisfying yet fleeting moments on paper.
