Rowley Cottage at Iford Manor

About

Surrounded by the beauty and tranquility of the Iford Valley and on the edge of the Grade 1 listed Iford Manor Gardens, this is the perfect stay for garden and nature lovers. Iford was described by Conde Nast Traveller (2021) as one of the Top 20 beautiful villages in the UK and Ireland.

Featured in the Tatler 2021 Travel Guide, this newly renovated three bedroom (all en suite) Grade II listed cottage, originally part of the mediaeval stables at Iford, complete with period features, promises a beautiful retreat within the Cotswolds AONB, with plenty to do nearby. With Hypnos mattresses, Egyptian cotton linen and the quiet of the valley, a good night's sleep is assured.

Enjoy exclusive access to the world-famous Iford Manor Gardens in the morning before they open to the public at 11am, as well as a small, south-facing garden of your own. For an extra special garden experience, a guided champagne tour of the garden with William can be arranged, or book onto one of the weekly evening champagne tours during the summer season.

With three miles of footpaths through the Iford Manor Estate you can easily walk to Westwood Manor (National Trust), Farleigh Castle (English Heritage), the stunning villages of Avoncliff and Freshford, or even walk as far as Bradford-on-Avon.

Alternatively, by car the centre of Bath is just 15-20 minutes away (or one stop by train from Freshford), as well as being perfectly placed to explore the Southern Cotswolds, Somerset and Wiltshire (including Stonehenge, just 45 minutes away).

Breakfast and lunch can be served up from the cafe (open Fri-Sun Oct -Mar; Weds-Sun Apr-Sept), or for a treat book in to enjoy a Sunday jazz brunch in the restaurant and a supper club.

In the evenings enjoy the quiet of the valley and enjoy its wildlife right on the doorstep. Sit in the front patio garden of the cottage to enjoy numerous bats, otters in the river, or spot the kingfishers, egrets and herons.
