About

Join for an offline hangout at Rengen House - warm drinks, good chats, zero notifications.

Unplug and unwind with us at this cosy pop-up evening café at Rengen House on Wednesday April 9th, 7–9 PM.

Whats the vibe?

Upon arrival, your phone checks into the "phone motel" (fancy for a lock box), and you check in to a world of real life. Chat with strangers who might just become friends, try your hand at journaling, painting, or knitting (yes, knitting is cool now), or challenge someone to a board game. Wanna bring your own hobby? Go right ahead, we're a pretty chilled bunch. You can get involved in meeting people, or you can sit on your own and do your thing. It's totally up to you.

Whats happening at the event?

There's a heap of analogue stuff for you to help yourself to (books, magazines, board games, bracelet making, cards, crafts etc) or you're also welcome to bring your own if you've got something specific. Generally people get involved in...

  • Journaling: What's more retro than writing in a journal?
  • Offline Gaming: Roll the dice or deal the cards – old school style.
  • Chilling: Yes, just chilling. Remember what that's like?
  • Chats with Actual Humans: Face-to-face convo? It's like a podcast, but you can actually talk back.
  • Painting: Unleash your inner Picasso.
  • Reading: Dust off that paperback you've been ignoring and give it some love.

No Wi-Fi. No distractions. Just good people, good vibes, and a chance to actually be present. It's all very Gezellig—that's Dutch for "cosy social gatherings" (aka your new favourite word).

Tickets
£6

Tea, coffee, and soft drinks all included in your ticket. No alcohol though—just good vibes, good company, and plenty of ways to enjoy some offline freedom.
