About

Members of the Argyle String Orchestra return to the stage for their winter concert at St Luke's Church.

The programme pairs Ralph Vaughan Williams' swirling, ethereal masterpiece Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis with a selection of J S Bach's most passionate chamber works that showcase string playing at its most vibrant and colourful. Dynamic gems by acclaimed 20th century British composers Gerald Finzi and Benjamin Britten bring together a programme that is not to be missed.

The concert will be conducted by Adam Laughton and the orchestra led by Roz Osborne. Roz and Tamsin Oldham are our soloists in Bach's Concerto for Two Violins.

During the interval refreshments, including an array of homemade cakes, will be on offer.
