About

The Argyle String Orchestra programme celebrates dances and soundscapes from across time, culminating in Ottorino Respighi's powerful Ancient Airs and Dances Suite Three, which captures the drama and beauty of Renaissance Italy with a modern twist.

Alongside popular works by Henry Purcell, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Johannes Brahms, the orchestra will also perform a new composition by rising cello star and composer Ayanna Witter-Johnson. DreamCity explores the sonic landscape of London in 2020, demonstrating how classical music continues to respond to the modern world, just as it has for centuries.
