About
Team Bath unites the facilities, services, and activities of the University of Bath’s Sports Department, with sport at the core of its mission. Team Bath offers opportunities for everyone, whether their goal is to participate recreationally, stay fit and active, or compete at the highest levels, including the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The Sports Training Village (STV) operates seven days a week and welcomes people of all ages, from toddlers to seniors. This multi-sport facility serves as a hub for athletes, coaches, physiotherapists, and sports scientists, supported by a dedicated team of knowledgeable and approachable staff.
The Team Bath Gym and Fitness Centre underwent a £450,000 refurbishment in 2024 and now boasts more than 200 stations across three expansive gym areas, along with two group exercise studios that host over 50 weekly classes. Facilities are available on a pay-as-you-go basis or through cost-effective membership plans for regular users. Personal training sessions are also on offer.
Team Bath’s Olympic-standard 50m pool provides daily public swim-fit sessions, often running alongside training sessions for elite athletes. A Hydro Pool hosts parent-and-child swimming classes for children as young as three months, catering to families seeking aquatic activities.
The Tribe programme offers children aged 2-16 the chance to enjoy sports in a safe, supportive, and fun environment. These sessions, held after school, on Saturdays, and during holidays, allow children to try new sports, make friends, and build their skills under the guidance of trained coaches.
Team Bath’s tennis programme provides coaching and classes for all ages, from toddlers to adults, during term time and holidays. Popular sessions include Pickleball and Cardio Tennis, while indoor and outdoor courts can be booked on a pay-as-you-go basis.
The extensive facilities at Team Bath also include a multi-purpose sports hall, a martial arts dojo, indoor and outdoor athletics tracks, beach volleyball courts, and a variety of grass and all-weather pitches, offering something for everyone.
For spectators, Team Bath hosts a range of events, such as Team Bath Netball matches in the NXT Gen League and BUCS Super Rugby fixtures featuring rising stars like Tyler Offiah and Kepu Tuipulotu.
The STV also functions as a versatile event space, accommodating everything from team-building activities and trade fairs to multi-sport competitions and school sports days.
Accessibility is a priority at Team Bath, with step-free access and clear signposting throughout the venue.
Whether visitors seek to stay active, connect with like-minded individuals, enjoy live sports, or find a unique venue for a corporate event with a sporting twist, Team Bath offers something for everyone.
